What's valuable

What buyers want from advisory firms

Records of real work and how it turned out. The more years and the better kept, the more they're worth.

  • Models and templates your team built

LBO, DCF and comps models, CIM and IC memo templates, pitch frameworks: firm-authored work with client data taken out.

  • Closed-deal workspaces

How a process actually ran: the data room, the questions, the turns of the model. Included only with client consent or where your engagement terms allow it.

  • Memos and diligence checklists

IC memos, diligence request lists, QoE follow-ups and closing checklists.

  • Review comments and redlines

A partner's markup on an associate's draft may be the most valuable record you have: it shows what good judgment looks like.

  • Process playbooks

How you run a sell-side process, a portfolio review or a consulting engagement, step by step.

What labs learn from it

A real deal is a lesson no textbook has

To teach an AI agent to work like an analyst, a lab needs to see the job done for real: which documents were opened first, which numbers got questioned, how the model changed after diligence, and how the partner's comments reshaped the memo. Public filings show the outcome. Your files show the work.

  • Working a data room and building the model
  • Spotting what diligence should question
  • Writing the memo a partner signs off on

We never promise a number. Value depends on how much data you have, how many years it covers and how well it's kept. Your valuation tells you where you stand.

See where you stand

How it works

Three steps. You approve every one.

You don't need to prepare anything for the valuation, and nothing leaves your company until you've seen it and signed off.

  1. Get a free valuation

Answer a few questions about your company. Within one business day we email you what buyers want from businesses like yours and what drives the price. No data needed yet.

  2. We find the buyer and do the work

We match you with buyers who want your kind of data, then handle anonymization, PII removal and the paperwork. You approve every file and every term before anything leaves.

  3. You get paid

Your company is paid under the license you sign. The buyer pays our fee, so it costs you nothing.

Privacy

What stays with you

You decide what's in scope. These never leave, and nothing goes anywhere without your written sign-off.

What never leaves

  • Client names, contacts and identifying details
  • Material non-public information
  • Anything under a client NDA, unless the client consents
  • HR, payroll and personnel files

How we anonymize

  1. Personal data is removed or replaced with placeholders.
  2. The cleaned files are reviewed, by us and then by you.
  3. Nothing leaves until you sign off in writing.

FAQ

Questions owners ask first

Anything else? Email [email protected] and a person will answer.

Can we license deal work at all, given client confidentiality?

Often part of it. Firm-authored material is the easiest to license: models without client data, templates, checklists, and memos stripped of identifiers. Material from closed deals goes in only with client consent or where your engagement terms allow it, and never anything under an NDA or holding material non-public information.

How do you keep our data private?

Nothing leaves until it has been through three steps. Personal data (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, account numbers) is removed or replaced with placeholders. The cleaned files are reviewed, by us and then by you. And you sign off in writing. Customer personal data, privileged or regulated records, and HR and payroll files are left out entirely.

How long does it take, and when do we get paid?

Your valuation arrives within one business day. If you go ahead, scoping and signing usually take a few weeks. Buyers pay once the data is delivered and accepted, typically 60 to 90 days after acceptance, and some pay sooner.

Do our employees need to know?

It depends on the data. Employee names and contact details are removed like everyone else's, and HR, payroll and personnel files never leave. Some material, such as call recordings or staff messages in certain states, can carry notice or consent rules; we flag it before anything is shared. Many owners choose to tell their team, and your counsel has the final word.

What does it cost us?

Nothing. The buyer pays us a fee when a deal closes. There's no upfront cost, and if no deal happens, nobody pays anything.

What if we say no?

Then nothing happens. The valuation is free and commits you to nothing. You can stop at any point before you sign, and nothing is ever shared without your written approval.

Who are you?

Data Dividend is a service of Augment Inc., based in Plano, Texas. We're independent, not tied to any one AI lab or data buyer, so our job is to find the buyer that fits your data rather than to fill one buyer's quota.
