What's valuable

What AI companies want from distributors

Records of real work and how it turned out. The more years and the better kept, the more they're worth.

  • Quotes and orders

How a request becomes a quote and then an order: substitutions, lead times and the follow-ups in between.

  • Pricing and rebate histories

Price changes, special pricing agreements and rebate claims, with customer names taken out.

  • Returns and credits

RMAs, credit memos and the reasons behind them.

  • Purchasing and inventory

Reorder decisions, stockouts and how your buyers worked around them.

  • Order-desk procedures

How your team handles rush orders, backorders and drop-ships, step by step.

  • ERP transaction history

Years of activity in the system you already run, with customer identifiers removed.

What labs learn from it

What a lab learns from a backorder

A customer needs parts you don't have on the shelf. Your inside sales rep checks other branches, offers a substitute, splits the shipment and updates the order. An AI that has never seen a real order desk can't do that. Your order history shows it how, one real case at a time.

  • Quoting with real lead times and substitutes
  • Handling backorders and split shipments
  • Pricing under special agreements

No distributor-specific prices are public yet, so these are general figures from other industries. Supply-chain records are rarely public, and AI companies already list them. We never promise a number. Value depends on how many records you have, how many years they cover and how well they're kept. Your valuation tells you where you stand.

See where you stand

How it works

Three steps. You approve every one.

You don't need to prepare anything for the valuation, and nothing leaves your company until you've seen it and signed off.

  1. Get a free valuation

Answer a few questions about your company. Within one business day we email you what buyers want from businesses like yours and what drives the price. No files needed yet.

  2. We find the buyer and do the work

We match you with buyers who want your kind of records and handle the paperwork. Personal details come out before anything leaves, and you approve every file and every term.

  3. You get paid

Your company is paid under the license you sign. The buyer pays our fee, so it costs you nothing.

Privacy

What stays with you

You decide what's in scope. These never leave, and nothing goes anywhere without your written sign-off.

What never leaves

  • Customer names, contacts and account numbers
  • Supplier contracts and pricing under NDA
  • Credit applications and customer financial statements
  • HR, payroll and personnel files

How we anonymize

  1. Personal details are removed or replaced with placeholders.
  2. The cleaned files are reviewed, and you see them before anything is shared.
  3. Nothing leaves until you sign off in writing.

FAQ

Questions owners ask first

Anything else? Email hello@datadividend.co and a person will answer.

Could our pricing end up with a competitor?

Only what you put in scope ever leaves. Customer names are stripped, and supplier agreements under NDA stay out. The valuable part is usually how the work gets done (quoting, substitutions, returns), not one account's prices.

How do you keep our records private?

Nothing leaves until it has been through three steps. Personal details (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, account numbers) are removed or replaced with placeholders. The cleaned files are reviewed, and you see them before anything is shared. And you sign off in writing. Customer personal details, privileged or regulated records, and HR and payroll files are left out entirely.

How long does it take, and when do we get paid?

Your valuation arrives within one business day. If you go ahead, scoping and signing usually take a few weeks. Buyers pay once the records are delivered and accepted, typically 60 to 90 days after acceptance, and some pay sooner.

Do our employees need to know?

It depends on the records. Employee names and contact details are removed like everyone else's, and HR, payroll and personnel files never leave. Some material, such as call recordings or staff messages in certain states, can carry notice or consent rules; we flag it before anything is shared. Many owners choose to tell their team, and your counsel has the final word.

What does it cost us?

Nothing. The buyer pays us a fee when a deal closes. There's no upfront cost, and if no deal happens, nobody pays anything.

What if we say no?

Then nothing happens. The valuation is free and commits you to nothing. You can stop at any point before you sign, and nothing is ever shared without your written approval.

Who are you?

Data Dividend is a service of Augment Inc., based in Plano, Texas. We're independent, not tied to any one AI lab or buyer, so our job is to find the buyer that fits your records rather than to fill one buyer's quota.
